The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a wondrous tale of a man who is born in his eighties and grows backwards. The scene right illustrates the  idea that every little event, everything we do, no matter how insignificant influences someone's life in some way. The scene shows everything that each person who crossed paths that morning was doing and how if one little thing was different, it would've changed Daisy's life forever. The smallest of things not happening such as a broken shoelace, or getting a cup of coffee could have forever changed Daisy's life. Sometimes our fate is out of our hands. We couldn't possibly know that doing an insignificant task could have saved someone from being hit by a car.As hard as it is to think about everything we do influences the future of us or others around us. We may not know it, but our little decisions are what make up the events in our lives.

Philidelphia

Philadelphia is a movie about a man, Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks), who is one of the top attorneys in Philadelphia. He is homosexual, but never announced it to his coworkers because he was afraid they might judge him upon it. When he is diagnosed with AIDS, he is suddenly fired from his firm. They fired him because of a misplaced document. Beckett thought that someone may have hid his paperwork on purpose to give the firm a pretext to fire him,  and that the firing is actually as a result of his diagnosis with AIDS. The case was brought to court because Beckett didn’t feel that he did anything wrong to give his boss a reason to fire him. He felt it was because of his sexuality and their fear of being around the disease. Andrew went to numerous lawyers to represent him, and the only one that was willing was from a small firm and had homophobia (Denzel Washington.)
Andrew Beckett was looked down upon because of personal aspects of his life. It lead  him to be fired and changed his whole life. His boss’s reasoning behind firing him, at his defense, was because they weren’t happy with Andrew’s performance recently. But if he hadn’t known about the disease Andrew had been diagnosed with, he probably wouldn’t have fired him. It was wrong and unfair for sexuality to influence a decision that serious. This movie proves how people are influenced to do rash things when they are afraid or uncomfortable. The decisions made by bosses influenced every part of Andrew Beckett’s life.By the end of the movie, Beckett won the case, but he died shortly afterwards. Many mourned and were very upset. This was a huge case for gay rights and other issues.By the end of the movie, Beckett won the case, but he died shortly afterwards. Many mourned and were very upset.
