Technology
Technology can be a wonderful thing. Any information is at the tip of your fingers and there is no longer a need to go to the library for research. Technology over the past decade has made an extremely beneficial impact and influence on society in the areas of medicine, economics, education and much more. Like most things, technology also has it's down sides. Gadgets and electronics have built a society and culture of distracted people. About every three minutes, a typical office worker is interrupted by a phone call, text message, e-mail, instant message, or bbm. The problem is, it takes eight uninterrupted minutes for our brain to get back into creative state. New forms of instant communication are supposed to make our lives run smoother, while really they are slowing us down by causing distractions and getting us to loose focus.
Electronic's Influence on Education
A study done with 8 to 18 year olds state that on average, a child spends more than 7 and a half hours glued to a screen. There is no longer a need for books and encyclopedias when the world wide web is right at you finger tips.
